Why most colour needs redoing every six weeks
Most salons finish your colour with toner. Toner washes out in three to four weeks, and once it does, the brassiness and the hard line at your roots show through. So you are back in the chair at week six, paying again. The Seamless Foil Method colours the hair underneath just as carefully as the surface, so when the toner washes out, what is underneath still blends soft. No hard line. No week-six emergency.

Who invented it
Mikelah-Jayde Riley developed the method here in Waikiki. She started in the industry at 15 as the basin girl, opened this studio 10 years ago, and has been asked to travel to Sydney to teach the technique to other hairdressers. AHIA Hot Shot Winner 2023, WA/NT Hairdresser of the Year Finalist four years running.
Every stylist in the studio is certified in the method, trained by Mikelah personally, so it does not matter who you are booked with.
Common questions
Is this just balayage with a different name?
No. Balayage is a painting technique for where the colour goes. The Seamless Foil Method is about how the foils themselves are placed and coloured so the grow-out and fade stay soft. We offer both, and often use them together.
Does it only work on blondes?
It is the technique behind 99% of the colour we do, blondes and brunettes included. The soft grow-out benefits any colour with lightening in it.
Will it last longer than my usual colour?
The colour is built so the fade and grow-out stay soft rather than developing a hard line. How long you personally go between visits also depends on your home care, which we walk you through honestly.
